Matcha (抹茶) in Japanese means powder, and refers to powdered green tea obtained by grinding specially selected leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Unlike ordinary green tea, this plant is grown in a special way for the production of matcha, and thus leaves with enriched, unique nutritional content are obtained. The special method of processing and turning these leaves into powder improves the quality of the tea and allows the user to consume the whole Camellia Sinensis leaf by consuming this drink, which is rich in numerous ingredients necessary for improving the health of every person.
20 to 30 days before the plant is ready to harvest, the green tea plantation is covered to avoid direct sunlight. In this way, the more active creation of chlorophyll is promoted, as well as the given amount of theanine and caffeine in the leaf itself . After this, the leaf nerves and leaf stalk are removed, and the leaf plate itself is further ground, using special methods, to create sword powder.

During the preparation of matcha tea, as well as other matcha products, the whole leaf is used (it is not just about extracting the leaves as with ordinary tea), and the amount of caffeine, thein, chlorophyll and above all the antioxidants of the Camellia Sinensis plant is much more concentrated. One cup of matcha tea has the strength of 10 cups of green tea prepared in the traditional way.
MATCHA TEA vs PERUVIAN MACA

Matcha is often confused with maca, but they are actually completely different plants. Maca is the powder of the root of the Lepidium Meyenii plant that originates from South America, and the best quality maca comes from Peru (also called Peruvian ginseng). The primary role of poppy seed powder is in improving fertility. It is a very nutritious substance, an excellent source of carbohydrates and fiber, with a small percentage of fat in its composition. Although both plants are in powder form, they also differ significantly in appearance: poppy is mostly beige, while maca occurs in various shades of green.
Matcha is a tea that has been in daily use in Japan (and China) for hundreds of years, and which has only recently become popular all over the world.
